Axalta Coating Systems is seeking an experienced DispersionChemist and with a strong background in formulation, pigments, rheology, and colloid science to lead Dispersion R&D for high performance coatings in Axalta’s global Research and Development organization. The Dispersion Chemist will spend 70% of their time as an individual contributor and 30% of their time as Team Manager on team coordination and people leadership.  The Dispersion Chemist will contribute individually and collaborate with global sites and functions within the global technology organization to develop new or improved pigment dispersions for our OEM, refinish, and liquid industrial coating systems.  The Dispersion Chemist will work closely with global resources in marketing, manufacturing, color formula development and sourcing to identify business needs and help define the pigments and testing necessary required to support the business goals.  Ideal candidates would have experience with dispersion processing from lab to production scale. The Dispersion Chemist will regularly interact with a wide range of global leaders and experts; excellent organization and ability to communicate effectively across multiple functions, regions, and organization levels is required. The successful candidate will join Axalta’s Global Innovation Center (GIC) in Philadelphia, PA.
