Primary Responsibilities

The Quality Technician is responsible for interpreting and applying a variety of technical laboratory procedures to perform tests and accurately record results to ensure the highest quality product is being produced and delivered to the customer.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform dry film readings.
  • Execute laboratory testing (Flow checks) according to area operating procedures and test methods, make observations and interpret findings.
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility to produce electronic and written test records, i.e. use/learn software.
  • Follow verbal or written work instruction.
  • Maintain various lab/measurement equipment.
  • Participate and support Preventative Maintenance and Calibration of sensitive laboratory equipment used to analyze samples.
  • Maintain an environment that is neat and orderly to comply with 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Adherence to site lab safety practices and national lab safety engineering standards.
  • Able to interact and communicate with various levels of the organization internally and externally in support of delivering quality product to the customer, such as working with Technicians to address quality issues or participating in customer visits/audits.
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple high priority tasks critical to meeting customer demand.
  • Safe implementation of test protocol, use of instruments and equipment.
  • Update trending reports for distribution for analysis of coatings.
  • Perform special request duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 1-year related Laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, overtime, and off shifts as required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to thrive working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated performance of working within safety standards
  • Proven strong contributor with the capability to work independently
  • Able to stand and walk for 2/3 of the shift
  • Lift 25 - 60 lbs
