Axalta operates its business in two operating segments: Performance Coatings and Transportation Coatings, serving four end markets, including:  Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across the following four regions: North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

 

The Communications Specialist role is focused on Internal & External Social Media by creating social media campaigns through storytelling that share Axalta’s culture and vision.  Reporting to the Director of Global Corporate Communications, you will collaborate with teammates across the business to drive engagement through internal and external social platforms.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop best in class strategy of internal and external brand content, and create a content calendar for internal and external social media campaigns
  • Manage internal social media platform (Axalta 360) and corporate social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)
  • Reply to comments from teammates or external subscribers
  • Monitor social networks for potential threats/opportunities
  • Track success of social marketing efforts through various online analytic tools, measure progress and adjust strategy as needed
  • Identify opportunities to influence internal and external organizational perception through audience engagement
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that internal communications are clear and meet corporate brand standards
  • Coordinate internal communications with a variety of stakeholders for Axalta 360 and the Intranet to ensure content is kept fresh and relevant. Help create content that drives employee experience, engagement and brand recognition
  • Manage social media vendors and budgets. Evaluate site performance and analytics, develop and maintain best practices for content, communications, and intuitive access to company tools and resources
  • Seek continuous improvement for the deployment of Axalta 360 as a key communications channel and productivity platform for stakeholders, Managers, and employees
  • Perform other graphical design duties as assigned such as creating communications materials from existing templates, assisting other communications teammates, etc.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofing and project management skills are essential
  • Excellent written communication skills: We’re searching for a teammate who can both tell engaging stories and /or deliver succinct strategic communications
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively across all levels of the business.
  • Able to prioritize work projects and multi-task
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions which have impact on people and quality of service.
  • Community Engagement: Keep our community engaged and connected
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and internal social media platforms like Dynamic Signal, Social Chorus or Slack
  • Familiarity with publishing and web design
  • Proven ability to use social media for impressions and brand awareness, understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, proven experience with social media KPI's, web traffic metrics and SEO. 

Education, Training, Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree: With a focus on Communication, Business Administration, Marketing, Organizational Development, or similar field of study
  • 2 -3 years of relevant experience managing internal and external social media content in a B2B company or creative agency working on B2B accounts.
  • Experience managing content for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Working Knowledge of the Adobe Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite highly preferred
  • Experience creating and editing video content
  • Experience managing content for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Dynamic Signal or Social Chorus highly preferred
  • Some Code Experience/Knowledge: HTML/CSS/JS
